Communities EverGreening Africa (CEGA) is a registered non-governmental organization under Kenya’s NGOs Co-ordination Board, committed to empowering youth and communities through eco-innovation and sustainable conservation. Their mission is to foster a future where communities thrive in harmony with nature by promoting environmental conservation, climate-smart agriculture, eco-entrepreneurship, and responsible leadership.
Greening Schools for Climate Action
Inspiring a new generation of environmental stewards
This project engages students, teachers, and entire school communities in hands-on climate action. Through tree planting, school gardens, and environmental education, learners develop practical skills and environmental responsibility from an early age. The project not only improves the school environment — providing shade, cleaner air, and biodiversity — but also instills values of sustainability and conservation that ripple out to families and communities. Schools become living laboratories for climate action, innovation, and hope.
Key Activities:
Tree planting and tracking in and around schools
Environmental education sessions integrated into learning
Establishing school tree nurseries and/or gardens
Student-led environmental clubs and activities
