From Story to Action
The Fleur Rossdale Foundation helps bridge the gap between knowledge and action.
Through storytelling, education and practical projects, we seek to inspire young people to better understand the natural systems upon which all life depends and to recognise their own ability to make a positive difference.
The DCCI School Awards were created to celebrate young people who demonstrate creativity, leadership and a commitment to practical action.
Students from Thika Road Christian School in Nairobi won the 2026 DCCI Drama Award for their performance of Taken by Storm by Fleur Rossdale.
One of those students, 14-year-old Jeanne Nyambura Muturi, went on to receive the DCCI Environmental Leadership Award for her outstanding commitment to communicating environmental solutions and inspiring practical action.
Wearing her costume as Sky from Taken by Storm, Jeanne participated in the appeal below in support of Communities EverGreening Africa (CEGA), whose work is helping restore landscapes, improve water security and strengthen communities across Kenya.
We invite you to watch the film and consider supporting this important community project.
What are we fundraising for?
We are raising funds to nurture a future generation of climate actionists – young people equipped not only with knowledge, but with the confidence and creativity to communicate and lead.
Through the Fleur Rossdale Foundation and the Direct Climate Cooling Initiative (DCCI), we bring together storytelling, art, drama, and science within schools, transforming climate education into something lived, felt, and expressed.
Our programmes are already being introduced across Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, and Kenya, with plans to grow an international network of schools connected through shared learning, creative exchange, and real-world environmental action.
Funds raised will directly support:
-
The development and delivery of our educational and arts programmes
-
Resources and opportunities for participating schools and students
-
The creation of a connected, international network capable of reaching thousands of young people
This is about moving beyond awareness – towards agency, communication, and meaningful action.
500 euros will provide an orchard of 50 fruit trees for Thika Road Christian School, who performed ‘Taken by Storm’ by Fleur Rossdale, to raise money to fund the planting working with Communities EverGreening Africa.
Click Donate and put CEGA in the comment box if you’d like to support their planting project for the Thika Road Christian School. The school is currently seeking €500 by 19 June 2026, when their school will present the DCCI Awards.
Support Education Through the Fleur Rossdale Foundation
